Sin City has been on a billion dollar hot streak for over a year now, so several new Vegas casinos are being planned and/or built as we write this! In this week’s video covering the gambling news, we take a short look at each of these properties… some of which have been sitting empty on the Strip for years! And some of which don’t even have a name yet!
At least six new Vegas casinos should be added to the city over the next two or three years. One of which has been sitting vacant for the past several years. After changing hands a few times, the Fontainebleau, is now slatted to open it’s doors before the end of 2023. And while we wait, the Dream Las Vegas hotel is now under construction close to the airport. That property should be up and running by the close of 2024.
Then there are two new properties from Station Casinos. Their Durango Casino will be an off The Strip resort, while their Wildfire Casino will be located near Fremont Street in downtown. Both of these new hotels and casinos should be welcoming visitors before the close of next year. One of the more interesting new Vegas casinos is the proposed Atari Hotel which, if actually built, would be modeled after video games. That property would set its sites on esports and virtual reality games. However, they haven’t even purchased property to build it yet, so temper your expectations.
Then there are the recent actions from Golden Nugget owner Tillman Fertitta. He seems interested in a parcel of land on the Vegas Strip near the Aria Casino, so we will need to keep an eye on that. Meanwhile, the list of new Vegas casinos got enticing, as another has broken ground at the south end of The Strip, and that project hasn’t even been named as of yet (at least not publicly). This new resort will be located near the Las Vegas Raiders stadium and is rumored to include an NBA basketball arena attached to it. So, take from that what you will.
