Our friends at International Game Technology (IGT) may be looking to offer Bitcoin slot machines. The slot manufacturer may offer Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as payment options for their slot machines, such as Megabucks and Wheel of Fortune.
The company recently received a patent to transfer cryptocurrency from a player’s account and an external crypto account. So, slot players could move Bitcoin into a virtual wallet on the slot machine they are playing via their cell phones.
Such a move would help casinos cater to younger gamblers. The Covid-19 pandemic has increased interest in Bitcoin, especially among millennials, with about 44% of them planning to buy the currency in the next five years, according to the Tokenist’s October survey. At Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, a third of guests are between the ages of 21 and 40, according to IGT.
