It’s our last show of the year, filled with holiday online gambling news! We have a Coronavirus update from Las Vegas, as well as a sports betting update from Florida and a disturbing report on problem gambling! Plus, there’s a special Christmas introduction!

T’was two weeks till Christmas down Florida way, where the Seminoles were not feeling so festive as their sports betting deal with the state has been ruled unconstitutional. And while visions of sugar plums dance through the Seminoles heads, and they wait for their appeal to be heard, other companies are starting to line up to get a piece of that Florida sports betting action!

DraftKings, FanDuel, and the Sands Corporation are all pushing forward with a sports betting petition to put this issue before voters and add a constitutional amendment. That would end any hopes the Seminoles may have had about a Florida sports betting monopoly.

Meanwhile in other online gambling news, the state of Nevada is extending their mandatory mask mandate for casinos, bars, taverns, hotels, strip clubs, etc. etc. Nothing’s really changing. They’re just, you know, extending it until the rate of infection in Nevada is “low”. And what exactly is “low”? About 50 cases per 100,000 residents. Seeing as how the state is currently at 400 cases per 100,000 people, that may take a while.
