Our first gambling news video of the new year begins on the Las Vegas Strip, where a Native American casino is now up and running… albeit with an old, familiar face. Find out which property became the first tribal gaming resort on Las Vegas Boulevard, as well as what many industry experts believe will be the hot new trend for 2023!
We’re kicking off 2023 with a story about Native American gaming! Specifically, a tribal casino is now located right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip! But before we go on, we should preface our remarks by letting readers know that this is not a new casino. It’s an old favorite: The Mirage!
Many people have already heard that the Mirage was sold to Hard Rock International. The company has plans to rebrand and renovate the property, transforming it into the Hard Rock Las Vegas. And since Hard Rock is owned by the Seminole Tribe, and since the deal has officially closed, that means the Mirage is officially the only Native American casino located on Las Vegas Boulevard… even though the name hasn’t changed just yet.
There is an interesting caveat to this whole thing, though: Hard Rock has made the decision to keep the Mirage name in place for the time being. Additionally, the famous volcano attraction will also remain in place for now. Hard Rock will keep the property as the Mirage, and not transition to Hard Rock, for at least another year and a half! So, there is still time to visit the Mirage… even as a Native American casino… and enjoy the resort one last time!
