The growth of gambling in America can be contributed to the explosion of online betting and sports betting. Driven in part by the pandemic’s affect on land based casinos, and now the recovery of Las Vegas and Atlantic City, the entire gambling industry is setting records!
Estimates are that over 45 million people will gambling in America this fall, most will participate in NFL betting… that’s an increase of over 40 percent from 2020! And if all that sounds just a little too good to be true well, consider this: According to GeoComply there were more than 58 million individual bets placed all across the country for the opening weekend of the NFL season… and that’s just for the 18 states they keep track of! An increase of over 125 percent!
About 10 million citizens say that they will bet on sports at a casino at some point this year, while 15 million more say they will participate in fantasy sports for money. About 20 million say they will place an online sports bet, and even more than that say they’re going to bet on sports with family and friends.
Of course, it’s not just sports betting that’s breaking records for gambling in America, oh no no! Gambling revenue as a whole has been up across the entire country! The numbers for July just came in, and yes we’ve set another gambling revenue record with over $4.8 billion generated in gambling revenue!
